Modern Day Statement
Alqua Sports Limited
This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Alqua Sports Limited (“Alqua Sports”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking do not take place in our business or supply chains.
Our business
Alqua Sports Limited is a bespoke sportswear, accessories, and equipment business supplying customised products to schools, local clubs, sports organisations, and customers in the UK and internationally.
We are committed to conducting our business ethically, transparently, and responsibly, and we recognise our responsibility to help prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our operations.
Our commitment
We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting with integrity and ensuring that our business practices and supply chains reflect our values and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
Our supply chains
Our supply chains may include:
- Fabric and material suppliers
- Manufacturing and production partners
- Logistics and distribution providers
We understand that risks may exist within our global supply chain despite us being a British business and are committed to working only with suppliers who share our commitment to ethical labour practices. We have our sole presence via our website.
Policies and controls
To support our commitment, we have implemented the following measures:
- Ethical sourcing expectations communicated to suppliers
- Supplier selection processes that consider labour standards
- Ongoing monitoring of supplier relationships
- A commitment to addressing concerns promptly and responsibly
We expect all suppliers and partners to comply with applicable employment laws, including those relating to wages, working hours, health and safety, and the prohibition of forced, bonded, or child labour.
Due diligence
Our due diligence processes include:
- Assessing potential risks when engaging new suppliers
- Requesting assurances that suppliers operate in line with ethical labour standard
- Maintaining open communication with suppliers regarding compliance
Where risks are identified, we work collaboratively with suppliers to address issues or, where necessary, reconsider the relationship.
Training and awareness
We aim to ensure that those responsible for procurement and supplier management understand the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking. Awareness of ethical sourcing and responsible business practices is embedded within our operations.
Reporting Ccncerns
We encourage employees, suppliers, and stakeholders to raise any concerns relating to unethical behaviour, poor working conditions, or potential modern slavery risks. All concerns will be taken seriously and handled appropriately.
Continuous improvement
Alqua Sports Limited is committed to continuously improving our practices to identify and mitigate modern slavery risks. We regularly review our policies and procedures to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to the nature of our business.
Approval
This statement has been approved by the Director of Alqua Sports Limited and will be reviewed annually.
